The Earth Cap was launched a few months ago and it's been a fun ride. Here is a short description of the things we've done and will continue doing to make our Earth Cap community grow. These first ten steps have been done via Instagram. We are still working on ideas for Facebook, Snapchat, and other Social Media spots.
1. Cappers:
The Earth Cap has already visited countries like Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, France, USA, India, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and more! We like calling the people wearing the caps "Cappers". We have been sharing their pictures on Instagram. We have been using a few hashtags in each pictures so that more people can find them. The most important hashtag is #theearthcap. This has created a space where any picture shared with this hashtag can be seen by other cappers. The main idea is that any cap is an Earth Cap as long as we use this hashtag when sharing pics. 2. Sports Events
We have also had fun showing off the Earth Cap at a few sports events:
-Football matches: El Clasico, Champions League Finals, Russia 2018 South American Qualifiers, Rio 2016 qualifiers, Copa America.
-NBA Finals: we shared a picture of the Cavs and the Warriors before Game 6.
-Formula 1: We asked who the community though would win the race at Bahrain.
- Wrestlemania 32: we were excited for the biggest stage of them all!
3. Movie Premieres: Captain America Civil War, X-Men Apocalypse, Batman V Superman, Finding Dory, and Ninja Turtles 2. We take several Earth Caps and asked the people at the movie theaters to take a pic with them and share them on their social media.
4. Flying Fridays
We started a weekly post called Flying Fridays where we select a destination and ask people to tag who they'd like to visit this place with. If they have already been to this place, they can share their pics using #theearthcap. So far we've selected: Paris, China, San Francisco, Cairo, Sydney, and Orlando.
5. Music Festivals
We have posted pics of festivals like Ultra Korea, EDC Las Vegas, and Lollapalooza Colombia. We also posted: Djs wearing Caps look cooler!
6. The Earth Cap Mixtapes
So far we have posted two mixtapes (May and June). You can listen to them here. We're just getting started and beginning to get a hold of how to record a mixtape so the mixes aren't excellent but the music we've selected is perfect for traveling the world!
7. Airport Tour:
We posted an image of 54 different airports around the world asking people to share theirs pics at these airports.
8. City Tours:
We have received several pictures from our Cappers around the world and gathered them in multiple collages of the same city. The first city to have a Tour will be Chicago, USA.
9. Tributes:
We have posted pics as tributes to victims of natural disasters or terrorist attacks. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those victims of the earthquake in Ecuador, the attacks in Belgium, Pakistan, Orlando, etc.
10. Mystery Mondays
We started a game that will be posted each Monday in which the Earth Cap is shown in a specific place. Some of the letters are missing and we want the community to guess where the Earth Cap is that week. Some weeks will be easy, like Athens the first week, and some will be harder!
